THE HEADIES 2013: ITS ABOUT TO BEGIN!

The Headies; Nigeria’s biggest and most prestigious music award is here. This is the eighth year of the award ceremony that has relentlessly raised bars and pushed boundaries.  This year’s awards will continue in the fine tradition of rewarding artistes, music producers, music video directors who have excelled within the year in review and honouring legends who have contributed to the music industry and left a strong legacy for future generations.
Created in 2006, the Headies was established to be the reward for artistic ingenuity in a country where music awards were poorly conceptualized and executed. The maiden edition revolutionized not only music awards in the country but also entertainment events in Nigeria. The following editions in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 have rewritten the script on how award ceremonies should be done.



With the theme It’s About To Begin, this year’s Headies is going to be totally different from past editions. Get ready to witness a whole new experience that will leave your bodies tingling and your mind yearning for more. The best of the best professionals are already working on the 2013 edition and coming up with ideas and concepts that will push the proverbial envelope.
The Headies is the most important date in Nigeria’s music calendar and will be holding today on Boxing Day, December 26th, 2013 and listed below is the list of nominees with the likes of Olamide and Phyno grabbing multiple nominations in a year which has been fantastic for Indigenous Hip-Hop as a whole.
