It’s been a few days back since I read about the death of Paul Walker, what a great guy he was,
and am yet to read something negative about him. He is a massive loss to
Hollywood and the world at large and am
pretty sure we are still hurting over it and here’s another loss to the entire
world, the death of Nelson Mandela, though more of a celebration of life well
lived. Sepp Blatter, president of football governing body FIFA, said his death
is a loss of the "greatest humanist" and that’s definitely the sheer truth.
A friend
posted on his face book page today morning, asking what we are listening to. I
quickly replied “Wake me when September ends by Green day because it was
playing into my ear holes, but then I realized that it’s a song written because
of the loss of someone special (Billy Joe wrote the song after he lost his dad)
coincidentally.
Whenever we
lose someone very dear to us, we sometime pick a good mix to aid in carrying
our hearts through those sad moments. For the rock fans in Nigeria, here’s my
playlist of good rock songs to listen to when you are going through that
painful moment, when you’ve lost someone very special to you. Most were written
as a result of a dead band member, family member or a friend so go through the
list and find some from your favorite band, Google them up and download, and I
would’ve written a bit about each song but its quite a long list and I don’t
have much time on my plate. This post is dedicated to Paul Walker and Nelson
Mandela.
