Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, fun.Top Billboard Music Award Finalists

Taylor Swift, fun. and Maroon 5 are all up for 11 different categories at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, slated to be handed out on May 19 in Las Vegas on ABC. Rihanna is right behind them, as a finalist in 10 categories, while Carly Rae Jepsen is in nine categories. Meanwhile, UK boy band One Direction is a finalist in eight different categories.
Swift, Maroon 5, One Direction and Rihanna are all finalists for the Top Artist category, along with Justin Bieber. For the Top Hot 100 Song, "Some Nights" from fun., Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" and two Maroon 5 hits: "One More Night" and "Payphone," are all nominated, along with Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know." The nominees for the Top Billboard 200 Album are Adele's 21, Mumford & Sons with Babel, Swift's Red and One Direction's two albums, Take Me Home and Up All Night.
Billboard Music Awards finalists are determined by a combination of album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, touring, streaming and social interactions online.
